ZTE’s first 108-megapixel Axon 40 Pro smartphone is unveiled

ZTE held a conference this afternoon about its new ZTE Axon 40 series of smartphones. In addition to the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, it also unveiled its first 108-megapixel smartphone, the ZTE Axon 40 Pro.

The smartphone has a classic design with a narrow bezel width of 2.3 mm, a thickness of 8.46 mm and a body weight of 199 g. It is available in black, blue and orange color options.

The phone features a 6.67-inch AMOLED curved screen that supports smart adjustments from 60 Hz to 144 Hz. It provides 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, 10-bit color depth, and a maximum peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2.

The ZTE Axon 40 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 single-chip system, dual DTS-enabled speakers, and a built-in 5000mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.

The ZTE Axon 40 Pro features a 108-megapixel 1/1.52-inch optical-format image sensor with 2.1 µm pixels and an F/1.89 aperture lens. Additionally, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree angle of view, as well as a macro camera and a scene depth sensor.

The ZTE Axon 40 Pro with 8/256GB of storage is available for $445, while the 12/512GB version costs $565.
