ZTE Axon 40 Ultra top-of-the-line camera phone with cutout-free screen and invisible front camera goes on sale in China

A few days ago, ZTE unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, the ZTE Axon 40 Pro and ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, in China. The older model is now available for purchase in the Chinese market.

The base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in flash memory is priced at $735, while the version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of flash memory is priced at $779. A version with 12/512GB of memory is offered for $852. The top-of-the-line 16GB RAM and 1TB flash memory version is priced at $1,073.


The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra features a 6.8-inch full-screen AMOLED display, curved on the sides with a 3.9-mm radius. At the same time, the display has a tiny frame around the perimeter. Its resolution is 2480 x 1116 pixels, the peak brightness is 1500 cd/m2. The screen supports an image refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz.

The main camera will get a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 image sensor with optical image stabilization support. It will be accompanied by a 64-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a Sony IMX787 sensor and a periscopic telephoto lens with an OmniVision OV64GB sensor and support for optical image stabilization.


The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 single-chip system, LPDDR5 RAM and flash memory. It also features a large 5000 mAh battery with 80W ultra-fast charging support. A matching power supply is included, along with a cable and case.
