Yandex.Food was fined for leaking user data

A magistrate court in Moscow fined the Yandex.Food service today, April 21, 2022, for leaking user data to the public.

The amount of the fine was 60 thousand rubles. A representative of the court told reporters:

“The court satisfied Roskomnadzor’s application, Yandex.Food was imposed a fine of 60 thousand rubles.”

This is by no means the maximum amount of the fine. Under Russian law, a fine of up to 100,000 rubles is prescribed for the leakage of personal data.

Recall that in early March, the Yandex.Food service team reported a discovered leak of user data. According to the press service at the time, as a result of the dishonest actions of one of the employees, customers’ phone numbers and information about their orders were published on the Internet: composition, delivery time, and so on.
