The iPhone 15 smartphone lineup may finally get a periscope TV. Jahwa Electronics is reportedly likely to join Apple’s supply chain.
This is indicated by the company’s intention to invest about $155 million to build new plants. Such investments can only mean that the company has acquired a major new customer.
And it speaks directly to Apple that it visited the production lines of Jahwa Electronics in South Korea in the first half of 2021. Jahwa currently produces periscope modules for Samsung smartphones.
As for shipments to Apple, they are expected to start in the second quarter of next year, which will just allow the Cupertino giant to equip models of the iPhone 15 line with them.
Exactly which models will get the periscope TV, we can only guess at the moment. Almost certainly the regular iPhone 15 won’t get anything like that. It’s also possible that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max will get such a camera, while the regular iPhone 15 Pro will be limited to a regular TV.
