Will Snapdragon 870 be retired? Reno8 will be the first smartphone with the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC

Oppo’s Reno8 line of smartphones could be the first on the market to get the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC.

The model with catalog number PGAM10 should get such a platform, and at the same time a 6.55-inch OLED screen, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, and a 4,500 mAh battery with 80-watt charging.

We’re probably talking about just the kind of smartphone that will look like a copy of the OnePlus 10 Pro. But in terms of parameters, as you can see, it’s a different smartphone.

Qualcomm’s new platform is expected to get four Cortex-A710 cores, four Cortex-A510 cores and an Adreno 662 GPU. It will replace the Snapdragon 778G, but will be somewhat weaker than the Snapdragon 870. That is, apparently, will score about 600,000 points in AnTuTu. But for now, this all requires confirmation.
