Just this morning we were saying that Twitter had begun talks with Ilon Musk about an acquisition, as it is now being reported that it is all but resolved.
Sources say Twitter has agreed to accept Musk’s offer with a price of $54.2 per share. Recall that the billionaire originally made such an offer, which at the time corresponded to a 54 percent premium over the day before Musk began investing in Twitter and a 38 percent premium over the day before the public announcement of this investment.
The source says that if all goes well, the deal could be announced as early as today. Of course, there is always the possibility that, for some reason, the deal will still fall through. But in this case, Musk, as he himself claimed, has a backup plan.
