The first serious drop in the price of AMD Ryzen 5000 processors happened after the announcement of Alder Lake last fall, and now there’s a new round of price war: the 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X flagship has dropped to its lowest price in both the US and Europe.
Across the ocean, local retailer Microcenter is offering the Ryzen 9 5950X for $520. Such prices for this CPU have never been seen before. Along with the flagship, other top models have also dropped in price: the 12-core Ryzen 9 5900X has dropped to $370, and the price of the 8-core Ryzen 7 5800X has dropped to $320. It is now $130 cheaper than the latest Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and although technically the model with the huge cache is positioned higher, it does not support overclocking, unlike the usual Ryzen 7 5800X.
As for Europe, there are also very good offers for Ryzen 5000. So, German aggregator Geizhals found Ryzen 9 5950X for 530 euros, Ryzen 9 5900X for 405 euros and Ryzen 7 5800X for 320 euros.
