We’ve already seen the capabilities of the Hasselblad 2.0 mobile camera (with the OnePlus 10 Pro), and we’ll soon see what the all-new Zeiss camera is capable of as part of the Vivo X80 flagship. For now, we can look at the camera itself – the first official teaser of the Vivo X80 Pro has been published on the web (it is clearly a scan or photo of printed promotional material).
That this is the X80 Pro and not the base X80 is evidenced by the presence of four sensors – the periscope module is taken outside the camera unit, and the Vivo X80 will not have it. But a brand new sensor Samsung GNV, apparently, will be common to all models in the series. According to recent reports, GNV will be an improved version of the 50-megapixel sensor Samsung GN1, but it is unclear whether it was finalized by the forces of Vivo, or on it worked both companies. In any case, the sensor GNV will be exclusive to Vivo at least for some time. Chinese sources are already speculating that the Zeiss camera in the Vivo X80 can provide the smartphone leadership in the DxOMark ranking.
The Vivo X80 has already made headlines in the Google Play Console. The smartphone is built on the Dimensity 9000 SoC, has 8GB of RAM and runs Android 12. Standing a notch higher, the Vivo X80 Pro and Vivo X80 Pro+ will likely get a Soc Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 12GB of RAM.
