An update was released this week for the LTE variants of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic smart watches. The documentation for the update contained mention of enabling Google Assistant on the two Watch4 models. The assistant has been missing since the smartwatch’s launch, despite running WearOS 3.0.
After the update, however, users were surprised to find that the update did not bring Google Assistant. The Verge then did not ask Google for an explanation about the lack of the feature. A Google spokesperson responded with the following statement.
Confirm that Google Assistant does not apply to the Gaalxy Watch 4, and we do not have an update on the timeline.
Ivy Hunt, Google spokesperson
This update for the Galaxy Watch4 has added support for Smart Switch backups and restores. You can also now perform a body composition analysis.
