The number of cybercrimes in Russia has fallen sharply

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs published a report on the state of crime in the Russian Federation for January-March 2022.


Every fourth crime in Russia is still committed using IT technologies. However, as follows from the above statistics, during the first three months of this year the number of registered cybercrimes showed a noticeable reduction – by 8.5%, including grave and especially grave crimes – by 14.4%.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs commented on the statistics:

According to experts, this indicates that illegal acts of this type were committed with the use of call centers located in Ukraine and disarmed during a special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces.”
