Last week it became known that Renault was preparing Avtovaz for sale, with the state corporation Rostec or structures of the Ministry of Industry and Trade becoming the new owner. There are also reports that a Chinese automobile concern will buy Renault’s stake in AvtoVAZ as early as May or June of this year.
At the same time, there are reports that the Avtovaz plant is already selecting a new candidate for the position currently held by Nicolas Mor. Rumors swirled last week that Mikhail Ryabov, who has worked at the plant since 1986, was the main candidate for the position of new AvtoVAZ general director.
Now the media have named two more candidates. According to the Telegram channel Russian Car, Nicolas Mor has already left for France, and there are more and more nominees for the new position. For example, they call Sergei Vladimirovich Gaisin, general director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise NAMI. He has been vice president for technical development at AvtoVAZ since October 2009.
Also named is Maxim Nagaitsev, AvtoVAZ’s vice president for sales and marketing.
