It looks like the title of “hottest” manufacturer can be awarded to Okinawa, which is recalling an entire batch of Praise Pro electric scooters due to a faulty battery that could cause a fire.
There have been several recent reports of Praise Pro batteries actually catching fire. A video posted on YouTube showed a fourth case of fire recorded in India.
Similar stories occurred last September and this March with the same model. In addition, there have been other cases of electric scooter fires from other brands, including Ola.
This is the sixth case of an electric vehicle catching fire. For now, the Ministry of Motor Vehicles has instructed the Center for Fire and Environmental Safety (CFES) to begin an in-depth investigation and find out the causes by the end of this month.
