The first “Troikas” with fully Russian chips appeared in Moscow

The Moscow Department of Transportation has announced good news. Moscow transport received Troika transport cards with a Russian chip.

According to the press service of the ministry, a batch of cards with a domestic chip in the volume of 1,000 pieces is already at the city carriers. Soon “Troika” will be tested in public transport, it will be the final part of the tests. After that, a mass batch of all-Russian transport cards will appear in metro ticket offices, where passengers will be able to buy them.

The Deptrans emphasizes that the chip replacement will not affect the card’s capabilities in any way. About 85% of passengers who choose “Troika” to pay for travel on public transport will not see the difference. Moreover, the Moscow government will have more opportunities to create new transport services.
