Lenovo’s line of world-renowned ThinkPad laptops has been expanded with a major new model, the ThinkPad T16 Gen 1. It is the first representative of the series with a 16-inch diagonal screen. By the way, this model uses an IPS matrix with an aspect ratio of 16 : 10, resolution of Full HD or 2.5K, and coverage of 100% of the color space sRGB. For a surcharge, the display can be a touchscreen.
The ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 can be equipped with both AMD Ryzen 6000 Pro processors and Intel Core 12 CPUs from the P and U lines. Intel CPU-based models have up to 48GB of DDR4 RAM, SSDs up to 2TB and Nvidia GeForce MX550 or RTX 2050 3D gas pedals on the list of options. Versions based on AMD processors do without discrete graphics, and the maximum amount of RAM is 32 GB, but here already uses LPDDR5-6400 MHz memory.
There are two battery capacity options, 52.5Wh and 86Wh. In the second case, the notebook is equipped with a 135W charger.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T16 comes equipped with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 adapters (with LTE modem at extra cost), a pair of USB-C ports (in Intel processor-based models with Thunderbolt 4 support) and a pair of USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.0b video output, RJ-45 port, standard headphone jack. The LTE modem version, of course, has a SIM card slot. The Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 should go on sale this quarter.
