The Lada Granta sedan was the best-selling car on the Russian market in April 2022, according to an Association of European Businesses (AEB) report released today.
Second place went to the Lada Vesta model, with sales down 82% from April last year to 2,598 cars. SUVs Lada Niva Legend and Niva Travel took the third place, their sales dropped by 64% to 1,941 cars,
The Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio took fourth and fifth place, respectively, with their sales down 65% and 76%, respectively, to 1,804 and 1,660 cars. In sixth place was the compact crossover Hyundai Creta with 1,162 cars, down 82% from a year earlier.
The top ten best-selling cars in Russia this April also included the Renault Logan sedan (902 units, -75%), the LADA Largus station wagon (840 units, -76%), the Skoda Rapid liftback (-84%) and the Renault Duster crossover (-83%).
According to RIA Novosti, cars that until recently were treated as ordinary means of transportation in Russia may soon become a luxury.
