Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, 120x zoom, Leica camera, 4,900mAh and 120W. Live photos of Xiaomi 12 Ultra prototype, detailed specifications and prices

Several sources have published new details about the Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphone almost simultaneously. Perhaps the most interesting is a live photo of the prototype published by a Chinese source. And this photo generally correlates well with the images that were published on the web earlier.

You can ignore the fact that the inscriptions in the camera unit are not in the same place – for a prototype it’s forgivable. More important is the confirmation of the 120x zoom. Of course, the hybrid one, the optical zoom will be much smaller. The inscription Leica near the camera unit speaks for itself – Xiaomi in the development of the camera of the new flagship is helped by specialists of the famous company. There are four modules, but details about three are known. It is reported that the main module will use a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 sensor, complemented by an optical stabilization system. Interestingly, OIS is also attributed to the other two modules, and both will use 48-megapixel sensors. Accordingly, one of the additional modules will have an ultra-wide-angle lens, the other will have a telephoto lens. The fourth module is likely to be a 3D ToF camera.

Even cases for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have already been found on sale in China. This indicates that the design is not just finalized – the device is ready for release. According to a well-known insider in China Digital Chat Station, production of the two Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+-powered smartphones will begin in the country in late May. Models are not specified, but there is speculation that one of them is just the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Its appearance on sale is expected either in late June or early July.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is also credited with a 6.73-inch Samsung E5 OLED screen with 2K resolution and 120 Hz frame rate, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, a 4,900 mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging, Android 12, stereo speakers, IP68 protection, IR emitter and a sub-screen fingerprint scanner.

What’s more, the price of all versions has already been named! So, it is assumed that for the base Xiaomi 12 Ultra with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory will ask $ 885. The cost of other versions is as follows: 12/256 GB – $ 960, 12/512 GB – $ 1000, 16/512 GB – 1075 dollars.
