Seat ventilation, 437 km of range, 50 kW charging, acceleration to 100 km/h in 9 seconds, all for $25,000. Tata Nexon EV Max electric crossover unveiled

Indian auto giant Tata has unveiled a new electric crossover called the Nexon EV Max. It is an older model compared to the previously released Nexon EV.

The Nexon EV Max starts at about $23,000, and they’ll ask about $25,000 for the senior package. That said, the electric car offers a lot for that kind of money.

For example, the range is claimed to be 437 km. However, this is according to the ARAI cycle, so it is difficult to say how much it corresponds to reality. The car’s battery has a capacity of 40.5 kWh, so it’s quite possible that the actual range will be much less.

But the manufacturer promises acceleration to 100 km/h in 9 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 140 km/h. All this is achieved thanks to an electric motor with 143 hp and 250 Nm of torque.

There’s also a 50kW fast charger that will charge the battery from 0% to 80% in 56 minutes.

But that’s not all. There are all-wheel disc brakes, seat ventilation, wireless smartphone charging, air purifier, energy recovery with one-pedal control, cruise control, electronic parking brake, water protection (IP67) for battery and engine, and so on. Of course, some of this will only be available in the top-of-the-line configuration, but it’s still a $25,000 electric car.

The car’s dimensions are 3993 x 1811 x 1616 mm. The trunk volume is 350 liters. The manufacturer provides a warranty on the battery and engine of 8 years or 160,000 km.
