Despite the fact that the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G and A53 5G smartphones are already on sale, only now the Korean giant has fully disclosed the new SoC Exynos 1280, the basis of these novelties.
So, the configuration of the new platform includes a CPU with two Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores up to 2 GHz. There is also a Mali-G68 GPU, but with an unknown number of cores.
The single-chip system supports Bluetooth 5.2, FM Radio Rx, not the newest LPDDR4x memory and UFS 2.2, and Wi-Fi 5. In addition, it is worth highlighting support for 108 megapixel cameras, the ability to record 4K video at 30 fps and support and Full HD+ screens with a frame rate of 120 Hz. The Exynos 1280 is manufactured using a 5 nm process.
That is, in general, it is a typical average solution, which can be highlighted by the modern process technology, the lack of support for Wi-Fi 6 and support for not the most modern memory standards. At the same time, competing SoC Snapdragon 778G and Dimensity 900/920 have been on the market for a relatively long time, that is, Exynos 1280 in this sense is not in the most advantageous position.
