“Russia’s Nuclear Shield Strengthened for Years to Come” – Sarmat Missile Could Enter Armament as Early as This Fall

Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roskomos, said the latest Sarmat strategic missile could enter service as early as this fall. A test launch took place this week, after which, according to a source, Russia’s nuclear shield is strengthened for years to come.

Vladimir Putin first announced the creation of such weapons in Russia during his 2018 address to the Federal Assembly. On Wednesday, commenting on a successful missile test, the president said the Sarmat would reliably ensure Russia’s security and make those who try to threaten our country think twice.

The first flight design tests, which took place on April 20, is the beginning of a huge, big milestone in the rearmament of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces. Because the Sarmat, compared to other complexes (both Russian and American, and those in other countries), is the largest, most powerful missile of global range, which carries such power that it is absolutely (these are not duty words) capable of cooling down any aggressor. This is a global event, not just for our country, because the Sarmat, as I said, is a unique weapon, an engineering marvel.

A missile weighing two hundred tons is said to be impossible to shoot down and has a range of 18,000 kilometers.
