The Association of Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD) calls for the use of only new parts when repairing cars under MTPL. At the moment there is no shortage of components, so it is not worth resorting to extreme measures.
The Association of Russian Automobile Dealers clarified that the manufacturers have officially confirmed the availability of stock in warehouses and warned against the use of non-original parts. Earlier, the All-Russian Union of Insurers sent a proposal to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to allow in a number of cases to make repairs of OSAGO options using second-hand spare parts.
The Bank of Russia has come out against the reuse of spare parts under MTPL. The Central Bank believes that it would be impossible to ensure quality repairs in such cases, and the use of unreliable parts could lead to tragedies on the roads.
At the same time, the Association of Automotive Parts Distributors (ADAC) said there is an acute shortage of spare parts. The organization reported that as of today, most automakers and independent suppliers have stopped importing parts and consumables into Russia. For this reason, the prices of available products in the warehouses inside the country have soared several times.
