No brand new revolutionary Apple product this year? Apple’s mixed reality headset may be delayed until 2023

Apple’s mixed reality headset, according to many early reports, would have been due out this year. But that probably won’t happen.

Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities says the product’s release could be delayed until 2023. According to his forecast, the device will be released in the first quarter of next year, so the delay will not be significant.

That said, the analyst estimates that Apple will only sell 1-1.5 million headsets in its first year of sales. In absolute terms, this seems to be a very small figure, but we do not yet know either the prices or the capabilities of the device.

Poo believes that one of the main features of Apple’s headset will be its own platform, which will allow for unique features. The device should get more than a dozen different sensors.

It is worth noting that the Cupertinians may well announce the headset at this year’s fall event, just that it will go on sale next year.
