Mir cards now work differently than before

Recall that contactless payment with Mir cards via smartphones using SberPay has been restricted since April 13. Sberbank later explained what this meant and how to bypass the new blocking.

The ban on payment in stores with SberPay was imposed by an unknown technical partner, with the bank concluding that a solution to the problem is on the way and the service will soon be restored. But it is possible to pay with smartphones if you link your “Mir” card to Mir Pay or Samsung Pay. It is also possible to use plastic cards.

Sberbank also clarified that online payment sites can still use SberPay for cards of the Mastercard, Visa and Mir payment systems. To do this, click on the button SberPay. The bank reminded that the owners of accounts in “Sber” can pay for goods by QR-code and using the function “One Look Payment” with special terminals.
