Microsoft releases Windows 10 update with new features

Microsoft has released an update to its Windows 10 operating system as part of its traditional monthly “Patch Tuesday” update. The update brings not only bug fixes and security enhancements, but also new features.

Update number KB5012599 is available both through Windows Update (Windows Update Center) and for manual download. It is available for Windows 10 versions 21H2, 21H1 and 20H2.

Although Microsoft’s main focus right now is on Windows 11, it doesn’t forget to work on Windows 10 as well. So, today the OS got a new feature called Search Highlights.

Basically, it’s a new kind of Windows search that offers content based on what day it is. For example, the user can see information about important events that happened that day or about holidays. Users who have logged in with a corporate account will instead see content relevant to their organization. This includes important contacts, recent files and so on. Another new feature is the ability to select different colors for the pop-up notification buttons.
