Cellular operator Megafon has been reinstated as a member of the GSMA international association of mobile network operators. An analysis of the GSMA website indicates this, and the operator itself has also confirmed it. Megafon said it received a notification from the GSMA about the reinstatement of the operator’s status. “We support this decision and are happy that it was taken by our partners from GSMA in such a short time,” the company said.
“Megafon” was excluded from membership in the GSMA at the end of March, the reasons for this step were not reported. Other Russian operators (Tele2, MTS, Beeline, Letai (the Tattelecom brand) and Motiv (the Urals cellular operator)) were not affected by this measure. Megafon is now listed on the GSMA website as a member along with all of these operators.
