Blizzard’s next game in the Diablo series finally has a release date. The American developer just announced that Diablo Immortal will arrive on PC and mobile devices on June 2.
Although the game was supposed to be available exclusively on Android and iOS devices, Blizzard has announced that the open beta will be released on PC along with the mobile version. The decision to bring Diablo Immortal to PC was based on community feedback, as many of those who played the beta expressed a desire to play it on PC.
However, the developer stated that Diablo Immortal also remains a game for mobile devices, so the main differences between the PC and mobile versions of the game will be seen in the user interface and controller functionality.
While both the mobile and PC versions will have controller support, the latter will also allow players to use the W/A/S/D arrow keys to move around the map. Naturally, PC players will also be able to use the mouse and keyboard to play. More importantly, Diablo Immortal will support both cross-play and cross-progress, which means players will be able to play with friends regardless of platform, and progress will be supported between the game on mobile or PC.
According to Blizzard, Diablo Immortal will be the biggest Diablo game ever released, with eight zones, unexpected encounters and enjoyable combat mechanics. In addition, the American developer said that this is his first game created from scratch for mobile devices.
