Adata Technology has announced the Legend 850 PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 SSD, which offers the highest performance for a variety of tasks, including 3D modeling and animation.
The Adata Legend 850 delivers sequential read and write speeds of 5,000MB/s and 4,500MB/s, respectively. That is, the new product is three times faster than a standard PCIe Gen3 SSD and nine times faster than a SATA SSD. The device supports the latest Intel and AMD platforms, desktops and laptops, and is backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0.
The Legend 850 features SLC caching and a host memory buffer and supports 4K random read/write at up to 400K/550K IOPS. LDPC (low-density parity code) and 256-bit AES encryption ensure the security of user data. The drive can be installed in PlayStation 5 as extended storage thanks to PCIe 4.0 support.
Also introduced was a limited edition drive created with the help of German graphic designer Mr. Fred. The colorfully patterned drive will be released in an edition of 520 units in June.
The Legend 850 SSD, which uses high-quality chips, comes with a 5-year warranty.
