According to Kommersant, citing a report by RBC, in March Russians began to actively buy up domestic and Belarusian-made appliances. The demand for them increased by 50-70% compared with March last year.
According to a representative of M.Video-Eldorado, Russian and Belarusian brands – Vityaz, Atlant, Pozis, Flama, Darina, Gefest and Biryusa – showed “higher dynamics than the market average due to a wide range and affordable prices.” Stilink also noted an increased demand for domestic appliances. The retailer sells brands of parent group Merlion – Digma, Oklick, Starwind, Sunwind and PC PET. In February, their total sales in units increased by 81% as compared to the same period last year, and in March – by 60%.
Alexei Pogudalov, commercial director of Kholodilnik.ru, said that from the end of February to the end of March, demand for all electronics increased several times, with appliances made in Russia and Belarus showing a two-fold increase, and in some categories a 2.5-fold increase compared to last year. Such brands as “Atlant”, Gefest, “Biryusa”, “Darina”, “Saratov”, Pozis and DeLuxe became more frequent buyers.
