The Mail.ru Mail service team has announced the launch of a new useful feature that is designed to improve user security.
An updated anti-fraud system adds a special “green shield” label for emails from trustworthy senders to further protect users.
A special icon and color in the web version highlight messages from verified major services: VK and Mail.ru, the State Services portal, the Federal Tax Service, popular banks and major retailers. Subsequently, the list will be expanded. Thus, if a user receives an email inviting him to change his password from Gosuslugi, open a deposit in a bank, or get a discount from a store, he will be able to tell at a glance if it is authentic.
Mail.ru business unit head Ivan Myzdrikov said:
Although phishing emails make up a small fraction of total spam, they cause the most serious damage to users and services. Fraudulent emails are often disguised as notifications from public services, banks and stores, which is why such services were the first to be checked by us. The ‘trusted sender’ marking is an additional guarantee that the message came from a trusted source and can be trusted.
