Russia is going to launch about 15 new-generation GLONASS navigation satellites, Glonass-K2, by 2030. This is said in the presentation by Nikolay Testyodov, General Director of the Reshetnyov Information Satellite Systems Company (GLONASS satellite manufacturer), presented at the Sphere international navigation forum.
Plans also call for one Glonass-M and eight Glonass-K satellites to be launched this year by 2024. “By the end of 2024, 14 Glonass-M and Glonass-K spacecraft in the orbital constellation will be capable of transmitting a civilian L3 signal with code division of the GLONASS system,” the presentation emphasizes.
