Authorities instructed to launch a domestic analogue of the App Store and Google Play by June 1

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin gave the order to complete the creation of a domestic app store for mobile devices by June 1.

The following statement from Mishustin was published today on the Cabinet’s website: “Ensure the completion of the domestic mobile app store.” The instruction was given to the RF Ministry of Digitalization, which must execute it by the end of spring.

Earlier Mikhail Mishustin stated that foreign platforms – App Store and Google Play – may restrict Russian users from downloading applications.

Last week, ANO Digital Platforms, which is developing an analogue of Google Play’s Android app store called NashStore, asked the RF Ministry of Digital Affairs to include the store in the list of pre-installed programs on smartphones of Russians.
