AMD’s new weapon. Ryzen 7000 processors may be introduced as early as May and will be released as early as summer

AMD is preparing to release Ryzen 7000 desktop processors this year, which will be very different from their predecessors. And the announcement could take place as early as May!

According to the latest data, AMD may unveil the new generation of CPUs at Computex 2022, which starts on May 24. However, the announcement will probably be nominal, so don’t wait for all specs and prices.

At the same time, the launch of new processors may still take place quite soon – already in the middle of the third quarter, that is still in summer. Since we have already heard such rumors before, it may mean that AMD really won’t delay with the new generation.

Recall, the Ryzen 7000 will move to the AM5 platform, will rely on the Zen 4 architecture and the 5 nm process. They will offer support for DDR5, PCIe 5.0, as well as most of the latest leaks indicate the presence of iGPU in all models.

In addition, the source also talks about Intel Raptor Lake processors, which will be direct competitors for the Ryzen 7000. These CPUs will retain the LGA 1700 design and 10nm process technology, but Intel will transfer large cores to the Raptor Cove architecture, while small cores will retain the old architecture, but their number will double. Raptor Lake will be released later than competitors, in the middle of the fourth quarter, that is, at the end of the year.
