All new Volvo cars will receive updates by air

Volvo is turning its cars into smartphones-at least as far as firmware updates for the infotainment system (and possibly other systems as well) are concerned. All new cars will be updated by air, just as smartphones are updated now.

And the company in this matter does not make a difference between the type of engine and platform: by air to be updated and electric cars, and cars with internal combustion engine – the same XC90, S60 and V60. In fact, part of the car manufacturer is already being updated by air (the last version of the firmware has received more than 190 000 cars in 34 countries), well, in the future this way will receive updates all Volvo cars.
