AMD recently decided that the $200 Radeon RX 6500 XT was not affordable enough for today’s market. And as a result, they decided to retail the RX 6400. Today this card is officially introduced.
The most important thing is that it costs only $160! It is unthinkably cheap in comparison with any other video card of the current generation, not counting the RX 6500 XT. In addition, given that the senior model is already offered at the recommended or very close to that price, the RX 6400 clearly will have the same fate. And that means that it will be much cheaper than many older Nvidia adapters.
For example, right now in Europe, the GTX 1650 is asking from 200 euros. Apparently, the RX 6400 will offer about the same level of performance, but will be much cheaper. In addition, ultra-low power consumption allows manufacturers to make low-profile and even passive adapters. The first ones will definitely be available on the market, as they have already started to be announced, but there is no information about the second ones yet.
Recall, the RX 6400 is based on the Navi 23 GPU with 768 stream processors. The card has 4 GB of memory with a frequency of 14 GHz and 64-bit bus.
Among other things, it will be very interesting to compare RX 6400 with Radeon 680M integrated GPU, as they are based on the same architecture and have the same number of processing units.
